In January 2010, Governor Nixon launched the �Show-Me Heroes� initiative to help Missouri�s Veterans and members of the National Guard & Reserve reconnect with meaningful careers, and to showcase Missouri employers who have pledged to do so.

As Missourians, we all acknowledge the great burdens and sacrifice our Armed Forces and their families have made in order to preserve our national security. We also recognize how Veterans and members of our National Guard and Reserve possess the degree of training, education, motivation, and character that will prove vital to Missouri�s economic future.

In addition to the resources, tools, and links to aid in the job search, this website lists the names of every employer who has pledged their support to the Show-Me Heroes program. By clicking on the Missouri map below, members of Missouri�s military community can see the employers in their region who have taken the pledge. In addition, using jobs.mo.gov will allow Veterans to post their resume and employers to connect with Veterans looking for a job.

While employers aren�t required to have job vacancies to participate, Governor Nixon is calling on all Missouri employers to take the pledge to consider hiring a Missouri Veteran if they�ve got a job opening. Sign up today and become a hero by hiring a hero!

Dedicated Veterans Outreach staff are stationed at most of the Missouri Career Centers located throughout the state. Local Veterans Employment Representatives provide assistance in job placement and accessing needed services and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program specialists provide case management and develop career and job training opportunities for veterans, with special emphasis on veterans with service-connected disabilities. Gov. Nixon signs legislation to strengthen, expand Show-Me Heroes program

Since establishment of Show-Me Heroes program in 2010, more than 1,600 veterans have been hired by Missouri businesses. House Bill 1680 further increases employment opportunities for Missouri veterans.
